Medela Contact™ nipple shields enable breastfeeding when latching on is difficult or painful or if you have flat or inverted nipples. They protect sensitive, dry and cracked nipples during breastfeeding, and are made from transparent, ultra-thin, soft silicone that’s comfortable on sensitive skin. The unique shape of Medela′s nipple shields maximises skin-to-skin contact between you and your baby.

Wash your hands with drinking-quality water and dry them thoroughly, then grasp the wings of the nipple shield to place it correctly. Moisten the shield with water so it adheres better to the skin. The nipple shield should fit comfortably over the nipple without squeezing. they′re available in three sizes so you can find the best fit for your type of nipple. Don′t forget to clean the shields after each use and disinfect them once a day – the easiest way to do this is to use a microwave disinfection bag – see the instructions for information on cleaning and disinfection. Contact nipple shields are supplied in a convenient storage box so they are always safe between each use.
